Parasite

What is it about?
Parasite follows the Kim's family struggling to meet ends until son Ki-woo comes across an unexpected opportunity. With no experience teaching English, he decides to accept a job tutoring Da-hye, a daughter from the wealthy Park family.
Cinematography
Types of camera shots that are used in the parasite trailer are, 0:20 over the shoulder shot to show conversation from another characters perspective. Going back and forth between both, showing the audience a new point of view. This makes the scene more dynamic. 0:42 A tracking shot along with a long shot is used, camera moves with the character when going up the stairs, showing the setting. 0:38 a static shot is used, the character is moving here but not the frame. Uses composition which then helps visualize the scene to the viewer.
Editing
Mise-en-scene
The use of mise-en-scene can be seen in the trailer. Setting, From 0:05 - 0:12 the mise-en-scene shows in what state the Kims family are living in, Where as between 0:42 - 0:54 the Parks family is the literal opposite of their state. The main character walking around the whole house shows how big the area is. The Kim's family could only dream of living in a place like that. Also at 0:52 the main character and wealthy wife can be seen going up the stairs, which represents social class.
Sound
One way sound is used is to show the difference in class between the Kim's and the Park's is at 0:07. Right off the beginning of the trailer the Kim's can't have a noiseless day - this time the area is being sprayed with chemicals fumes to disinfect the area. This shows they don't live in a rich neighbourhood. However, for the Park's life is peaceful 0:41 the door opens for it self with just a click of button and is overall quiet. From the beginning the music is at a usual pace but after the door bell is rang 1:23 the music starts building up, up until the very end. This could meet it has hit a peak of something.
